This is a 100% original Third Reich example of Dreissig Kriegsartikel für das deutsche Volk (Thirty War Articles for the German People), a rare World War II propaganda publication by Dr. Joseph Goebbels, the Reichsminister für Volksaufklärung und Propaganda (State Minister for National Community Clarification and Publicity).

In the foreword Dr. Goebbels reminds the German population that millions of German citizens are fighting for the future and destiny of Germany - brave soldiers at the front lines, hard working men and women of the war industry, in offices, shops, laboratories and farmers tending their fields.

This booklet is the legacy of the fallen German heroes for the living workers and fighters. A reminder that the loss of life of family members and friends during military service and in the homeland was worth the sacrifice. And, a stern warning and admonition to the people who are not pulling their load and the “undecided”!

The need for the German community to continue to pull together is stressed in other articles, as well as keeping up moral during the war, not questioning the men leading the war (as the reason for their actions is not always clear to people who are not in-the-know), not falling for foreign influence which tries to separate the people from their government, the importance of helping others in need during wartime, remaining aware of continuously changing civilian war duties, remembering the heavy responsibility the Führer is carrying for his nation, iron discipline and determination at the home front so that soldiers know they are being supported, no citizen should complain about restrictions and necessary austerity during war, etc.

Naturally, we can’t translate each article, but Artikel 30 is a recap explaining that what each citizen does or does not do, says or is silent about, is important as they are a German! Keep believing in the Führer, and in victory! Always remember that “you are a child of the bravest and most hardworking nation on earth” which has to endure pain and suffering to reach its goal - securing freedom and a future.

This rare original 4-1/8 x 5-7/8 inch, 16-page example of Dreissig Kriegsartikel für das deutsche Volk has a striking cover design by Mjölnir (famous German graphic artist Hans Herbert Schweitzer) and was published by the Central Publishing House of the Nazi Party Franz Eher Nachfolger late in the war in 1943. The fine 80 year old Nazi war propaganda publication was printed by Buchgewerbehaus M. Müller & Sohn, the company that printed many different editions of Adolf Hitler’s Mein Kampf.

This rare World War II German propaganda publication by Dr. Joseph Goebbels is in very good condition and looks like it was opened only once or twice. It has no odor.

Artikel 1 reminds the reader that everything is possible in war, except surrender and bowing to the force of the enemy. Considering surrender shows great cowardice and should not be allowed by fellow Germans.

Artikel 2 explains the war being fought is for the right to live. After victory, all the damage and the great losses of human life will be absorbed by “our National Power and Will”. Losing would mean the end of the nation and German history.

Artikel 3 points out that Germany is fighting a defensive war, a war forced upon the country by its enemies to cut off its opportunity for further development and growth. If the enemy would be successful in reaching its goal, the current generation would lose everything it fought for and it would mean the end of the history of the German people.

Artikel 4 covers the fact that all wars come with risks and dangers, but that they have to be overcome for the greater need of the nation, and freedom.
