Der Mythus des XX. Jahrhunderts was Alfred Rosenberg’s 1930 bestseller on the racial superiority of Aryan Teutonic peoples. The very anti-Semitic book contains Rosenberg’s racial interpretation of history, concentrating on what he considered to be the negative influence of the Jewish race in contrast to the Aryan race.
Of course, many people were critical of “The Myth of the 20th Century”, including members of the Protestant church. The Third Reich Alfred Rosenberg book offered on this USMBOOKS web page is called Protestantische Rompilger (Protestant Pilgrims to Rome) and is subtitled “The Treason of Luther”. It was Rosenberg’s strong answer to Protestant criticism and in the book he demanded that the German people be released from Christianity and called Christian teachings of sin and grace as "teachings of inferiority".
When Protestantische Rompilger was published in 1935, it caused another avalanche of criticism which Rosenberg countered in the August 1937 foreword of this 9th edition of 50,000. He writes he is surprised by the continued intolerance of the leaders of the Protestant church and their inability to value the community aspect and destiny of the German State.
This 5-¾ x 8-½ inch, 88 page flexible cover edition of Protestantische Rompilger was published by Hoheneichen Verlag München in 1937. In the back there is advertising for Der Mythus des XX. Jahrhunderts, Blut und Ehre and Gestaltung der Idee as well as Reichsleiter Rosenberg’s book An die Dunkelmänner unserer Zeit.
The 85 year old Nazi book is in very good used condition, with a tight spine and no unpleasant odor. The name of a previous owner is handwritten on the title page accompanied by what appears to be a catalog number.
This 1937 edition of Alfred Rosenberg's "Protestant Pilgrims to Rome" is
