Der Stoss in Frankreichs Herz, Der Feldzug einer Gebirgs-Division in Frankreich (The Thrust in the Heart of France, the Campaign of a Mountain Troops Division in France) is a 1941 hardcover Nazi photo book about the participation of Gebirgsjäger during the 1940 invasion of France. It has a foreword by Knight’s Cross recipient General der Gebirgstruppe Ludwig Kübler followed by a full-page photo portrait of him (shown below left).
The text consists of lively troop accounts and excerpts of war diaries assembled by Arthur Müller. The 108 text pages have black & white sketches by Karlheinz Dallinger. There are an additional 110 glossy (unnumbered) photo pages with gritty pictures of the Westfeldzug. They were taken by those involved in the battle, all of them named on the page facing the foreword.
